Newcombe ball is a game that is played with as many people as you want but only 12 people can be on each side at a time until there is a rotation. There are numbers on lines all over the field from number 1-12.Any spare players are the substitutes and wait for a rotation to move on to the court one by one.The player who is number 1 serves the ball over the net to the other side. The ball is not allowed to touch the net on a serve but is allowed to when your just passing it over. Some of the rules for newcombe are....
- The ball has to go over the net.
- You have to be in the 1st row out of the 3 to pass the ball over.
- You only have 3 passes to get it to the front.
- You can only have the ball on your side for 3 seconds. If you pass the ball over the net and it touches the ground before the opposing team can get it then your team gets 1 point.
To get a point you have to pass the ball over the net without it going out.You can stop the game whenever you want but to win you have to be beating the other team by 2 points. If your team serves the ball and make a mistake then rotates so number 1 goes to 2 and number 2 goes to 3 but if you have spare players instead of number 12 going back to number1 it goes off as a spare player and then one of the spare players goes to number 1.Then the other team serve but if they make a mistake then your team rotates but if your team makes a mistake or misses the ball on the other teams serve then they get 1 point.
The aim of the game is to win a point by playing by the rules. Some good tactics are to be able to catch the ball and throw the ball over the net onto the other side.
